Press release

Folk lore and storytelling has been depicted throughout art history beginning as early as ancient times. The curator has researched into a few designated time periods starting with medieval art and progressing into Japanese printmaking. Traditional Folk art has an interesting history and corresponds well with figurative painting of Today’s contemporary artists such as Laylah Ali.
The exhibition will have selected artists who use narratives, folk traditions and folk art sources within their artwork that imply political and cultural concerns.
